As the seasons passed, the sunlight softened, and the sound of insects at night began to resound pleasantly in my ears, and when the insects in my stomach became energized and my appetite increased, nomlog editorial meeting said, "It's the next seasonal event." , How are you doing?"​

Once again, while looking back on the history of the spring and summer events, opinions were exchanged many times during editorial meetings and chats about holding the next "New Kukan Saijiki". (Really)

From the beginning, our goal was to hold seasonal events for each of the spring, summer, autumn, and winter seasons, so the next event will be an autumn-themed event. rice field.

If I talk about the conclusion first, the next theme has been decided to be [moon viewing]!
There were many ways to get to this topic, so let's touch on those as well.

Various ideas were received from each staff member when deciding on the outline of the next event.

In addition to the autumn seasonal events such as [Autumn of Art/Autumn of Reading/Autumn of Appetite], holding proposals for [Sports Day], and [Halloween], which has been established in Japan for the past few years, Ideas such as [employee trip] and [year-end party], which should be called consolation events to be held towards the end of the year, came up. In addition, there were opinions such as inviting guests other than nomlog staff to expand the number of participants and co-create a new way of holding the event.

Why [moon viewing]?

[Otsukimi] is an ancient Japanese custom held in autumn with the main purpose of appreciating the moon floating in the night sky.
It is also mentioned in Japanese poems from the Heian period, and is a typical autumn tradition, and I think it is one of the major national events.

But everyone, have you had [Moon Viewing] recently?

When media news reports such keywords as supermoons and blue moons, you may find yourself consciously looking up at the night sky. But perhaps there are not many people who have actually done [moon viewing] in the original manner?

"Isn't [Otsukimi] the best match as a seasonal event of Japanese culture that embodies the new Kukan Saijiki?"
About 10 years ago, at a seaside park in Odaiba, I once prepared dumplings and pampas grass and imitated [moon viewing]. started on its own.

​The full moon, which should be called the main event of [Moon Viewing], is also called the “Mid-Autumn Moon”, but when I googled it, it was October 1st in 2020. After finishing the [Online Summer Camp], the discussion to decide on the autumn event started early, but as I told you earlier, the discussion was pushed, and the season was about to end in October.
Yes, that's right! Almost a month has already passed since Juugoya, and I thought, "Oops, I was late, did I miss my chance!"

*A proposal for [Tsukimi] that Hideki put on the desk of the editorial meeting. Actually, I'm the first one to say it, so I'm writing a preview article to tell everyone. The 15th night had already passed, but on October 29th, when I came up with this project, the day was strangely the day before the 13th night!

However, if you look closely, [Moon Viewing]

1. Jyugoya, the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar
2. Next is Jusanya, September 13th of the lunar calendar.
3. After that, on the 10th day of the 10th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar (Tokaya / Tokanya)

■ The 13th night is said to be the second most beautiful moon after the 15th night in a custom that originated in Japan, and it is also called the "chestnut moon" or "bean moon" because it is also a celebration of the harvest of chestnuts and beans.

■On the night of the 10th, it is said to be an event to see off the gods of rice fields who return to the mountains after harvesting.
I knew from my spring preparation that the spring [hanami] was also an event to welcome the gods from the mountains to the rice fields, so I felt that it would be a suitable autumn seasonal event for us to do as a paired event. I was.

Also, oddly enough, October 13th of the lunar calendar was October 29th, 2020, the day after I came up with this project.
And three days later, on October 31st, is the timing of the second blue moon this year following October 1st!
According to the forecast, the air will be clear for the next few days, and it was time to welcome the weekend when we could expect a clear autumn night sky.
When I realized that, I couldn't stand still, so I loaded a single-lens reflex camera, several lenses, a sleeping bag, and a work PC into the car and drove to Nishi-Izu, where I could see the moon clearly.

*October 29, 2020 The rising "Twelfth Night Moon" Taken in a certain port town in Nishiizu. The surface of the sea glittering in the moonlight and the ridgeline of the mountains that stand out clearly in the moonlight are beautiful.

The next day's editorial meeting was connected online from the car, and while conveying this coincidence of coincidence at the same time, "Let's start this project from tonight!"​
On this special weekend night, we asked all nomlog staff to look up at the sky, and with the consensus of the editorial meeting, it was officially decided that the autumn event would be [moon viewing].

And I continued the “one person moon viewing” in Nishiizu on the night of the weekend, in order to create a plan for the upcoming [New Kukan Saijiki] [Moon Viewing].
