Introduction What is the Nomura Management Forum?

On May 31, 2023, the “Nomura Managers Social Gathering 2023” was held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa. This meeting is held every year as a mutual communication meeting to express gratitude to all of the cooperating companies who cooperate mainly in the construction field for their daily cooperation and to strengthen cooperation.
The first part of this year's event will consist of presentations about the Group by executives and a talk session with invited guests, while the second part will mainly consist of a get-together with the Group's executives and employees. Thank you for your participation.

As part of the second part of the program, the Nomura Excellent Technology Award was presented for the first time.
In this article, the Quality, Environment and Safety Promotion Department, which serves as the secretariat for the Nomura Management Forum, will introduce the purpose of establishing the Nomura Excellent Technology Awards and the award ceremony that took place on the day.

Purpose of establishing the Nomura Excellent Technology Award

There are two main purposes for establishing the Nomura Excellent Technology Award.
The first is to express our gratitude to our partner companies.
The reason why our group has been able to provide "joy and excitement" to society in the history of more than 130 years is that we have the support of many cooperating companies with "passion", "effort", "wisdom" and "experience" for manufacturing. It is because it is
I wanted to express my gratitude to our subcontractors who have achieved high quality with excellent technology.

The second is “improvement of technical capabilities”.
Until now, there was an award system related to safety, but there was nothing that focused on "technical ability" and "construction ability" in manufacturing.
Through this commendation system, we thought that starting with the various technologies possessed by our partner companies, we would create cooperation between them and lead to further improvement of our technical capabilities.
As a synergistic effect, we aim to improve the motivation of people working in the field and contribute to the development of the industry as a whole.

The day of the award ceremony

Subcontractors with excellent technology from last year's achievements were entered from each department, and after internal selection, 6 subcontractors took the podium at the award ceremony.
Some examples of the award-winning proposals this time are: "plastering technology that is not bound by conventional construction methods," "technology for storing finely patterned cloth with high quality," "facade construction technology that uses tiles," and " Modeling production technology in theme parks".
In addition, in order to make more people aware of the various construction techniques of our subcontractors entered by each department, we held a panel exhibition with information on the technology in the waiting space during the break, and only our group employees. Rather, I feel that I was able to take a closer look at many of our partner companies.

Having been involved in this awards ceremony in my role as the secretariat, I was reminded once again of the support our company receives from many partner companies that have excellent technology, and when I read the comments of our employees at the time of voting, I realized that our employees share the same view.
